Our Goals

Goals of the BUOS are:

(1) To serve the members of the Board and to help improve the interest and general welfare of the distance education and independent learning fields.

(2) To establish first-rate standards for the conduct of distance education institutions.

(3) To provide for suitable accreditation for organizations meeting the high quality standards.

(4) To promote the adoption of up-to-date educational standards in the distance education field.

(5) To co-operate with public and private agencies at all levels in the development of distance education.

(6) To promote exchange of information helpful to the advancement in independent learning fields.

(7) To work together with local, state and federal authorities in the maintenance of high standards in the fields of distance education and independent learning.

(8) To undertake activities necessary for the accomplishment of these goals.
